Where did you get that guitar?

If ( like me) you go to see lots of bands you’ll have seen dozens of mighty fine guitars being played on stage, all the classics like Les Pauls, Strats and PRS axes. From time to time I see one that looks almost exactly like one of these classic guitars but with something extra, something really cool, and I’m sort of left wondering what it is I saw. Right now my first choice guitar is a Gibson SG Special Faded in worn cherry finish – this is how the makers describe it: ‘The SG Special Faded is uncivilized. It’s fierce’. Well, it’s not uncivilised enough for me so I’m taking it down next week to Andy Vicars Guitars.

Andy is a fantastic luthier and he’s kind enough to look after all the tech stuff for me, but this time I’m going to ask him what he can do to my guitar to give me that really customised look. I’m not really sure what I want yet so if you’ve got a good idea of what I should get Andy to do for me post a comment on our myspace. I’ll keep you up to speed where this goes. If I pick your design maybe we can a get a photo of the two of us with my great new guitar. What do you think?
